Sharonville Family Dental: How Soon Should a Child Have First Dental Appointment?
How soon should a younger child visit a dentist? We can start seeing children as young as infants. We recommend scheduling your child’s first visit by the age of 2 or 3, and certainly by the age of 4 or 5. In most cases, we’ll just look at the child’s gum and tooth development. Even before they develop any teeth, the foundation is already being laid. It is best to ensure things are at a healthy development. Our dentists are great with kids and will do everything we can to help your child (as well as Mom and Dad) feel comfortable and secure. We’ll show diagrams and models of teeth, demonstrate proper brushing and reinforce why brushing is important. We try to keep the appointment as fun, relaxed, and educational as possible.
