Broken Tooth Extraction Explained

Unfortunately, there are reasons you may need to have a tooth removed, say it got broken, it’s badly decayed, or it has an infection. Impacted teeth can be significantly higher at $800 to $4,000. Before the procedure, we’ll take an Xray of your tooth. We’ll also go over your health history to see if there is any potential for complications. For a simple extraction, we’ll give you numbing agent to numb the tooth. All you’ll feel is the initial pinch.  We’ll then use an instrument known an elevator to gently rock the tooth back and forth to loosen it from the gumline. Finally we’ll remove it with forceps.   For a surgical extraction, you’ll likely receive both local anesthesia and intravenous anesthesia, which will help you feel relaxed. We may even administer general anesthesia where you are completely knocked out for the operation. We’ll cut into your gum to make a small incision to remove the tooth.
