Dental bonding is one of the simpler procedures in cosmetic dentistry we offer at our Cincinnati office. Unless you’re having a cavity filled, it doesn’t even require any anesthesia! How easy is that? It can be done in a single visit. Your dentist will roughen the surface of your tooth to create a better bonding surface. He or she will then apply a bonding liquid that will stick the bonding agent to the tooth. A cosmetic resin will be applied to the liquid. He or she will then mold or shape the tooth. Next the new bond will be hardened with an intense ultraviolet light. The bond may require final shaping. It can be a great way to fix a defect or imperfection in a tooth. In some cases, dental bonding may be used to fix a cracked, decayed, or discolored tooth.
