Feeling pain in your tooth? Call our Cincinnati dental clinic and we’ll get you in as soon as possible. In the meantime, there are several home remedies you can try for relief. Start by rinsing with a warm salt water solution of roungly a 1/2 teaspoon of salt to 8 ounces of water. Swish for about 30 seconds or so and spit it out — do not swallow. This can help prevent infection. Over the counter pain medication works well too, but don’t place aspirin directly against the tooth. Swallow it instead. Ice or cold compresses may provide pain relief by relieving swelling. Clove oil rubbed on the infected area can also provide pain relief. Chew a piece of raw garlic or place chopped bits on the tooth. This can help numb the pain.
