The American Dental Association recommends that you visit your dentist once or twice a year for regular checkups and cleanings. This is a general guideline, however. It actually varies for each individual depending on the state of your teeth. Some people should go every few months. Others, those lucky souls who’ve never had a cavity in their lives, for instance, can probably get away with seeing a dentist on an annual basis. When you come in for your examination, we’ll give your teeth a thorough dental cleaning that is much more thorough than what you can do with regular brushing and flossing. We’ll remove built up tartar on the teeth, between the teeth and beneath the gum line you can’t remove on your own. Our dentists also examine your teeth and gums for signs of tooth decay and gum disease. We’ll even check your mouth for signs of oral cancer. Regular dental visits are essential to dental health.
