If you do end up feeling pain, you can apply ice packs to control the swelling. Over the counter pain medication such as Tylenol or Advil will also help. You might try applying clove oil — available in most drug stores and in the spice aisle of most grocery stores. You can also try drinking warm peppermint tea to ease the pain.
